Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP)

Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP)
The Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP) is a government initiative designed to subsidise staff training in high technology for local enterprises, with a particular focus on “Industry 4.0”–related training. Under the scheme, eligible companies can receive funding on a 2:1 matching basis, meaning the government will cover two-thirds of the training cost, while the enterprise contributes the remaining one-third.

By supporting the upskilling of the local workforce in areas such as advanced manufacturing, automation, and smart technologies, the RTTP aims to accelerate industrial transformation, enhance competitiveness, and equip employees with the skills needed for the future economy.

Application requirements for RTTP

According to the Vocational Training Council (VTC) guidelines, companies applying for the Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP) must meet the following criteria:

  1. Company Registration – The applicant company must be registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance.

  2. Eligible Employees – The subsidy is available only for employees who are Hong Kong permanent residents and are directly employed by the applicant company.

  3. Approved Training Scope – The subsidised training must involve enrolled employees attending courses that are listed on the official RTTP course list or pre-approved by the VTC.

By fulfilling these requirements, companies can leverage RTTP funding to upskill their workforce in advanced technologies, particularly in Industry 4.0-related fields.

Funding amount by RTTP

The Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP) provides funding equivalent to two-thirds (2/3) of the course fee for each approved enrolment, with a maximum funding cap of HK$500,000 per company per year.

This substantial subsidy enables local enterprises to significantly reduce training costs while investing in high-technology and Industry 4.0–related skills for their employees.

Application process for RTTP

  1. Register an Application Account – The client must first create an account on the official RTTP online application platform to access and manage the funding application.

  2. Submit Proof of Course Attendance – After the enrolled employee completes the approved training, the company must submit supporting documents (e.g., attendance records, completion certificates, and receipts) to verify participation.

  3. Disbursement of Funding – Upon successful verification and approval by the Vocational Training Council (VTC), the subsidy will be disbursed directly to the applicant company.

This streamlined process ensures that companies can access RTTP funding efficiently, enabling them to focus on upskilling their workforce in line with Industry 4.0 and advanced technology development goals.
