Good Employer Charter

The Good Employer Charter, promoted by the Labour Department of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, aims to foster harmonious labour-management relations and promote good employment practices. The program encourages employers to comply with labour laws, provide reasonable wages and benefits, prioritize occupational safety and health, and care for the needs of their employees. Participating companies are required to sign a pledge and, upon confirmation, are awarded the “Good Employer” logo. The program not only enhances corporate image but also promotes a more humane employment culture in Hong Kong, fostering workplace inclusion. By sharing successful cases, it encourages more employers to prioritize employee well-being and foster a positive work environment.

Caring Company

Organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), the “Caring Company” scheme aims to promote corporate social responsibility and foster collaboration between the business and social welfare sectors. The program encourages companies to implement corporate social responsibility in three key areas: employee care, environmental protection, and community service. These initiatives include implementing family-friendly policies, promoting environmental initiatives, and organizing volunteer activities. Participating companies that meet these standards are awarded an annual certification mark and receive publicity opportunities and a cross-sector exchange platform to enhance their corporate image and contribute to building a caring society. The program attracts thousands of companies annually and has become a leading benchmark in Hong Kong’s corporate social responsibility sector.

Good MPF Employer Award

The “Good MPF Employer” award, organized by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority of Hong Kong, recognizes employers who excel in their MPF arrangements. The program encourages companies to provide better retirement protection for their employees, including timely and voluntary contributions, and the provision of MPF information and support. Participating employers who meet the criteria are awarded the “Good MPF Employer” logo, and are eligible to compete for annual awards. The program not only enhances corporate image but also encourages employers to prioritize employee retirement benefits and foster positive employment relationships.

Social Capital Builder Awards

The Social Capital Builder Awards, established by the Hong Kong Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF), recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals who actively promote social capital development. The award encourages the establishment of mutual support networks, fosters community inclusion, and strengthens social cohesion through cross-sector collaboration. Applicants are required to demonstrate innovative practices in community building, intergenerational inclusion, or diverse collaboration. Winners will receive public recognition and have the opportunity to share their success stories, inspiring the development of more social capital projects. This award not only recognizes the efforts of contributors but also promotes closer community ties in Hong Kong.

Partner Employer Award

The “Partner Employer Award” corporate recognition scheme, organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, aims to honor Hong Kong SMEs that actively fulfill their social responsibilities, support local employment, and promote good business practices. The program encourages companies to provide reasonable wages, prioritize employee training, employ underrepresented groups, and participate in community service. Participating companies that meet the criteria will receive an annual certificate and logo, and will participate in networking activities to expand their business network. The program not only enhances corporate image but also encourages the business community to work together to build a caring and inclusive society.

Equal Opportunity Employer Recognition Scheme

The “Equal Opportunities Employer” recognition scheme, promoted by the Hong Kong Equal Opportunities Commission, recognizes employers who actively implement equal opportunities policies. The scheme encourages businesses and organizations to uphold anti-discrimination principles in recruitment, promotion, and the workplace, ensuring fair treatment for employees regardless of gender, race, disability, family status, and sexual orientation. Participating organizations are required to develop relevant equality policies and provide training. Upon successful completion of the assessment, they will be awarded the “Equal Opportunities Employer” certification mark. This certification not only enhances a company’s social image but also contributes to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence

The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) is organized by  the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) to recognize outstanding corporate and institutional achievements in environmental protection and sustainable development. The award places particular emphasis on environmental leadership demonstrated in corporate operations, encompassing comprehensive environmental practices such as green innovation, resource management, employee engagement, and community education. Winning organizations not only receive professional recognition, but their success stories will also be widely disseminated, driving improvements in environmental standards across the industry. By recognizing environmental pioneers, the award continues to foster a green culture within the business community and the community, playing a significant role in promoting Hong Kong’s goal of carbon neutrality.
